1099 Independent Contractor | In-Person | Benton, Arkansas

Position Overview

Gateway Family Therapy Services is seeking an independently licensed mental health therapist to contract for in-person clinical services at our Benton, Arkansas office, with a particular focus on children and adolescents.

We are seeking a clinician interested in offering approximately 10–15 hours per week for in-person client services. This opportunity may be a good fit for someone who has a full-time job, is building an independent practice, or provides therapy through an online platform and would like to see clients in person.

You propose the days and hours you can offer. Gateway coordinates office availability and appropriate referrals with your agreed availability while providing administrative support and access to established clinical systems. In-person care is the primary need for this opening; telehealth services may also be available when clinically appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person therapy to children and adolescents within your scope of practice and clinical competence. Services for adults, couples, families, or groups may also be offered according to your experience and interests.

• Conduct intake assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide trauma-informed interventions appropriate to each client’s needs and developmental stage.

• Engage parents or caregivers when clinically appropriate while respecting client confidentiality.

• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans.

• Use SimplePractice and Blueprint for applicable scheduling, documentation, and records management.

• Maintain ethical and legal standards of practice, including HIPAA compliance and applicable payer requirements.

• Coordinate appropriately regarding scheduling, referrals, client communication, and continuity of care.

• Maintain independent contractor responsibilities, including licensure, malpractice insurance, taxes, equipment, and independent business operations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related mental health field.

• Active, unrestricted Arkansas LCSW, LPC, or LMFT license permitting independent practice.

• Experience and competence providing therapy to children and adolescents.

• Ability and willingness to provide in-person therapy at our Benton office.

• Training or experience in trauma-informed care; training in CPT, EMDR, IFS, somatic therapies, play therapy, or other developmentally appropriate approaches is a plus.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills and the ability to work independently.

• Commitment to culturally responsive care for diverse populations and marginalized communities.

• Independent malpractice insurance coverage.

• Own business phone, business email, and equipment necessary for service delivery.

Compensation and Support

• 60/40 revenue split based on collected payments for services rendered: the clinician receives 60% and Gateway retains 40%.

• Compensation for eligible missed appointment fees in accordance with the contractor agreement and applicable payer requirements.

• Administrative, scheduling, billing, credentialing, and marketing support.

• Access to office space and clinical systems, including SimplePractice and Blueprint.

• Autonomy over schedule, availability, and caseload, with coordination of shared office access and continuity of care.

• A collaborative and supportive practice environment.

Important Information

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity rather than a W-2 employment position. The clinician contracts to provide professional services to Gateway Family Therapy Services and remains responsible for their own taxes, malpractice insurance, equipment, licensure, continuing education, and independent business operations. Employee benefits, paid time off, and paid holidays are not included.

Our current referral need is for approximately 10–15 hours of in-person client services per week. Clinicians propose the availability they wish to offer and maintain autonomy over their schedules and caseloads. Client bookings and earnings are not guaranteed.
